Sheepmount Athletics Stadium is located in Bitts Park, close to Carlisle City Centre. The recently refurbished stadium boasts a superb athletics track, a brand new fully equipped gym featuring the latest Technogym cardio and strength equipment plus grass football and hockey pitches. We also have a range of activities and clubs at the Sheepmount throughout the year. Parking here is free for users of the centre.

This project involved the refurbishment of the upper and lower changing rooms following flood damage caused by Storm Desmond, replacement of the eight-lane athletics track, with a new polymetric track to IAAF tolerances, replacement of equipment and site preparation for all weather football pitch.

The interface with the public and site users and managing access with public access and existing public footpath. There was also an existing gun club on-site. Access was managed via close liaison with all stakeholders by the Site Manager.
