The project involved the construction of a new 3 storey extra care building to create 38 flats, communal facilities and lounge etc. with alterations to existing roads and infrastructure. The scheme provides greatly needed homes for the over fifty’s whilst catering for those with special care requirements.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • The project will provide income for the neighbouring community centre which in turn will allow them to continue providing a much needed asset to the local community.
  • Designed in compliance with the HCA Design and Quality Standards for Older People and to comply with Lifetime Homes.
  • Designed to the principles contained in the Happi report and of the design guidance produced by Stirling University for Dementia design.
  • The project was delivered with zero reportable Health & Safety incidents.
  • 66% of subcontractors used were local to the site.
  • Over 96% of construction waste was diverted from landfill.
  • Close liaison with stakeholders was key to the successful management of this project.
