Groundworks for New Aldi Store

Groundworks package including Section 56 works and construction of SW outfall into the river.

DURATION: 35 weeks CONTRACT: JCT 2016

WORKS INCLUDED

Bulk Excavations, dealing with contamination
Foundations, retaining walls and floor slabs.
SuDS drainage and attenuation
Junction realignment works and constructing new entrance.
Surfacing (carriageway & footway)

KEY RISKS/CHALLENGES

Occupied Commercial properties required access through the site, including an Ambulance Station.
Works to the new junction to be co-ordinated around the school break times.

LESSONS IMPLEMENTED, COLLABORATION AND VALUE ADDED

TAC vast experience led to the successful re-design of the SW outfall to mitigate unforeseen site conditions.
Liaison with ambulance station confirming their access route.
Planning & programme
