Thomas Armstrong Construction is pleased to announce its appointment as principal contractor for the redevelopment and extension works at the former indoor bowls centre in Cleator Moor. This project, awarded by Cumberland Council, further strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two organisations.

Following initial enabling and strip-out works, major redevelopment activities are now underway. The project, a key part of the Cleator Moor Town Deal, will transform the centre into a modern and multi-purpose sports facility. Plans include the construction of a four-court sports hall, a multi-purpose studio space, a new fitness suite, and modern changing facilities.

In addition to providing enhanced recreational opportunities for the local community, the redeveloped centre will also become the new base for the Copeland Occupational and Service Centre (COSC), a day centre for individuals with physical disabilities.

This significant development promises to infuse new energy into the whole community, revitalising the heart of Cleator Moor and creating fantastic opportunities for local residents. The project will also contribute positively to the local economy.
